Israel pushes India for Hamas ban amid Arab solidarity show

Following Israel's ban on Pakistan-based terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba, Israel ambassador Naor Gilon expressed hope India will proscribe Hamas, saying the Netanyahus government has already shared information with Indian authorities about its terrorist activities. "We did whatever was expected from our side. Now it is for the Indian government to decide - if, where, how, how fast," said Gilon, when asked if India had indicated to Israel it was considering a ban on Hamas.

The fall of Kandahar, Afghanistan’s second-largest city and the former headquarters of the Taliban movement, in the south to the insurgents in the early hours of Friday was followed by the swift retreat of government forces from at least six other provincial capitals.
